Larry Joe Elswick, 62 of Newark, DE, died Friday, January 30, 2015 in the Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.
Born in Fayette, WV, on April 5, 1952, he was the son of the late Burley Elswick and Dorothy Janice (Bostic) Whiteside of OH.
He served during Vietnam war in the Army from 1970-1973 and worked as a maintenance technician for Capano, Newark, DE.
Larry loved crabbing and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife: Mary C.(Zulkowski) Elswick; one daughter: Amanda Elswick of Wilmington, DE; 3 stepchildren: Dawn Boyer and her husband Herb of Elkton, MD, Amber Huddleston and her fiancée Harry of Wilmington, DE and Charles Huddleston, III of Newark, DE; 5 siblings: Frank Elswick of Newark, DE, Roy Martin Elswick and Jimmy Elswick both of OH, Lynn Elswick of Newark, DE and Emma Jean Elswick of TX; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 10:00 am at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
Interment will follow in the Veteran’s Cemetery.
