Kevin Glenn Sparrow, 53 of Elkton, MD, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Born at the U.S. Army Garrison in Wurzburg, Germany, on July 5, 1972, he was born to Glenn Lee Sparrow and Mary Elizabeth (Susie) Rainbolt.
Post-deployment, Kevin, his mother, Susie, and older sister, Brenda, made a home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia with his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Phyllis Rainbolt. Kevin was a graduate from Arcadia High School where he enjoyed playing football. While also in high school, he worked with his mother and sister at Bonza, making others laugh from behind the cook line.
After High School, he found his love of machining while working for Barretta USA and continued this career until his passing as a machinist employed by Delta Machine and Tool in West Chester, PA. He was known by his friends at Delta as loyal, dependable, and hard-working. It was often said they couldn’t have done it without him.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hiking, gaming and playing the guitar. Many of these past times he enjoyed sharing with his daughters, Avalon and Gillian, and his best friend, Dave Holman. Kevin loved his girls and spent many hours laughing at TV or baking up something sweet. His passion for music and the outdoors will be a legacy Gillian carries forward, while Avalon inherited his witty humor.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Phyllis and Clyde, and his mother, Susie. He is survived by his two daughters: Avalon Sparrow and Gillian Sparrow; his sister, Brenda Powell (Matthew); and two nephews, Benjamin Powell and Wyatt Powell.
Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Philips Lutheran Church, 5320 Limestone Road, Wilmington on Saturday, February 21st, from 4:00 - 5:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 21st at 5:00 PM.
