Kenneth Douglas Heverin, 65, passed away on March 8, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Florida from complications with pneumonia following a back surgery. Born on September 10, 1959, in Elkton, Maryland. Ken grew up in Elk Neck, Maryland and later in life lived in various cities in Delaware and lastly in Florida to be close with his son and granddaughters. Ken lived a life filled with adventure, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Ken was a proud graduate of North East High School’s class of 1977 where he played football, baseball and wrestled. He furthered his education and football career while attending Salisbury State University. His career in the automotive industry began at Colonial Honda in Perryville, Maryland. Over the years, he worked at various dealerships throughout Maryland and Delaware in both sales and management roles. For the last 15 years, he served as a performance manager at V-Auto, where he worked closely supporting car dealers across the country. His mentorship and guidance left a lasting impact on many colleagues and friends in the industry.

Beyond his professional life, Ken had a deep passion for football, specifically following the Raiders and his love of Orioles baseball. He found joy in boating, attending concerts, traveling to new places, and spending time with his beloved Bengal cats. One of his greatest joys was visiting with his granddaughters—Sadie, Marli, and Murphy—who brought immense happiness into his life. He cherished every moment with them and took great pride in being an involved grandfather.

Ken was known for his infectious energy and ability to turn any encounter into a memorable experience. His outgoing personality made everyone feel like a friend from the moment they met him. Whether through spontaneous adventures or heartfelt conversations, he had a way of leaving a lasting impression on those around him. Many who knew Ken have stories of laughter-filled moments and unforgettable experiences shared in his company.

A man with a generous heart, Ken often looked out for others during difficult times. He provided support to those who needed help getting back on their feet and offered guidance when friends faced tough decisions. His mentorship extended beyond work—he was always willing to lend advice or encouragement to anyone who sought it.

Ken is survived by his son Sean Heverin; his granddaughters Sadie Heverin, Marli Heverin, and Murphy Heverin; his brother David Heverin; and his sisters Kristine Bowman and Kathleene Hirsch. He was predeceased by his mother Liisa Heverin-Davis, father James Heverin, and brother James Heverin Jr.

Ken lived life to the fullest embracing every opportunity for adventure while making sure those around him felt valued and supported. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, wisdom, and boundless enthusiasm for life.

A Celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Upper Chesapeake Ballroom, North East Fire Co., 210 South Mauldin Ave., North East, MD.
