Listen to Obituary

Kenny Hartman, 58, of North East, Maryland, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer and related health complications. Born and raised in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, Kenny cherished the friendships and family connections he made throughout his life. He was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved, whether he was riding his ‘motorsicle’, camping, traveling, or simply spending time with family and friends.

Kenny had a passion for barbecuing and took great joy in cooking for others. He loved bringing people together around a good meal and was known for his generous heart, infectious smile, and hilarious stories that could light up any room. His kindness, humor, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Kenny is survived by his beloved wife, Lea Knapp-Hartman; his mother, Linda Hartman; his sister, Nancy Strain, whose selfless gift of a kidney gave him many treasured years; his niece, Jamie Strain; his nephews, Ryan Strain (Lee) and Jake Strain (Caroline); his great-nephew, Jack; his great-niece, Eleanor; and his stepchildren, Shawn, Daniel, and Jennifer. He was preceded in death by his father, William Hartman.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 8, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Garretford Fire Company, located at 323 Edmonds Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Family and friends are encouraged to attend and share their favorite Kenny stories and memories.
