Kayleigh Anne Duffy "Boop", age 15, of Bland, Virginia, died Wednesday, October 1, 2003, from a rare blood disease in Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. Born in Christiana, Delaware, on September 25, 1988, Kayleigh is currently the poster girl for the Southwest Virginia Red Cross. Kayleigh is survived by her mother and step-father, Tamara "Tammy" and Charles L. Ulmer, Bland, Virginia, father and step-mother, Darren and Deborah Duffy, Galloway, New Jersey, maternal grandparents, Sharon Holotanko and Michael Saponaro, and Charles and Wanda Ulmer, all of Elkton, Maryland, paternal grandparents, Georgette and Robert Cassa, Wayne, Pennsylvania and Joseph and Barbara Duffy, Collingswood, New Jersey, siblings; Jessica Duffy and Isaiah Ulmer, both of Bland, Virginia and her uncle, Tony Saponaro, Atlanta, Georgia. A memorial mass will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2003, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland. Family and friends are invited to visit one prior to services at the funeral home. Father Francis Kenney of St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, North East, Maryland will officiate.
