Kathryn V. (Storms) Melrath

KATHRYN VIRGINIA STORMS MELRATH, age 90, died on November 17, 2012, at the home of Russ and Liz Melrath, son and daughter-in-law, in Dagsboro, DE.

Kathryn was born in Bustleton, PA, on March 29, 1922. She graduated from high school in Oxford, PA, in 1938, and Beacon College in 1940. From 1942 through 1945, she was employed with the United States Army at a station hospital in Camp Livingston, LO. After the war, she worked for Allied Kid Company, and then for E.I. DuPont de Nemours Company in Wilmington, DE. After her retirement from DuPont, she volunteered for Meals On Wheels, and Northern Chesapeake Hospice, both in Cecil County, MD.

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband Jacob Kirk Melrath; her brothers William, Julian and Ted Storms; and by her sister Mary Weaver.

She is survived by her son Russ Melrath, his wife Elizabeth, and grandsons Jason Kirk Melrath, and Jared Patrick Melrath and daughter-in-law Susan Montebell Melrath.

Services will be private.
