Kathryn S. (Schenck) Begley

Kathryn S. Begley, 93, wife of the late John P. “Reds” Begley III, and daughter of the late Robert

F. and Laura (Laudeman) Schenck, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.

Born on August 29, 1922 she was raised in Minersville, PA.   She graduated from Millersville College in 1944.  Kathryn was an elementary school teacher, retiring from the Wallingford Elementary School in 1983.

An avid sports fan, Kathryn was involved with the Boy Scouts of America and Brownies.  She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, sewing, knitting, slot machines, the beach and her weekly bridge club.   When surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her smile and laughter lit up the room.

Survivors include her son: John, wife Pam of Port Ludlow, WA; daughters: Bobbie Cantler,

husband George of Perryville, MD and Karen Davis, husband Ray of North East, MD; 10

grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers: Robert & William; her sister: Dorothy and by a great grandson: Zachary Boone.

Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Willow Tree
