Kathleen Marie (Knies) Lyon

Kathleen Marie Knies Lyon, 42 of Elkton, MD, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 in the University Of Penn Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on October 26, 1972, she was the daughter of the late John Knies and Patricia Taylor Dolor.

She was a Registered Nurse for Medstar working as a traveling nurse.  She was known for her strong compassion and will be missed by all her patients.

Kathleen graduated from Newark High school, attended University of Delaware, and Cecil Community College from which she received her nursing degree.  Kathleen loved traveling, sports and coaching soccer.  She also loved her dogs Raleigh Jane & Parker and her cats Flynn and Fred.

Survivors include her daughter: Averie Lyon and  son: Jacob Lyon; her mother Patricia Dolor and stepfather Gary Dolor; two sisters: Lisa Wehner and husband Norman of Port Deposit, MD, Jennifer Nelson and husband Bob of Lakeland, TN and one brother: John Knies of North East, MD.; and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her Daughter, Jordan Leigh Wingo, and Father, John Knies

Friends may call Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.

Funeral service will be private.
