Kathleen De Leon

Kathleen De Leon, 88 of Elkton, MD, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Floyd, VA, on May 30, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Hobart R. and the late Clara I. Lawson Guthrie. She worked at the Soda Fountain of Kresge's 5 & 10, Wilmington, DE. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elkton. Survivors include her husband: Nestor De Leon of Elkton, MD; her children: Robert J. Pugh and his wife Mary of Rising Sun, MD, Carol L. Fisher and her husband Richard of Brick, NJ; 5 grandchildren: Rick Fisher, April Forster, Geren Fisher, Terri Lowman and David Pugh; 6 great grandchildren; and her siblings: Edna Stike, Betty Stuart, Peggy Campbell and Jesse Lawson, Jr. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two husbands, Robert F. Pugh and William Smith; a sister, Zora M. Rea; and a brother, James Lawson, Jr. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Elkton, 607 Delaware Avenue, Elkton, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Thursday starting at 9:00 AM before the service. Rev. Earl Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in Brookview Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD.
