Katherine Hedrick “Kate” Coudon-Murphy, 92 of Perryville, MD, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, Rising Sun, MD.

She was born in her home Jacksonville, FL, on January 28, 1922; the daughter of the late Fredrick Cleveland Hedrick and the late Edith Rebecca (Warrington) Hedrick.

Kate was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, class of 1939. After high school she attended Florida State College for Women, Tallahassee, FL. There, Katherine was a member of the Debutant Court of Jacksonville, 1941.

She was a member of St. Mary Anne’s Episcopal Church, North East. Katherine served on Altar Guild and wrote for the church’s newsletter; was Vice President of the 6th, 7th, 9th Districts of the Union Hospital Auxiliary; and a member of the Cecil County Historical Society, Friends of the Library, Friends of Rogers Tavern, and the Children’s Home Foundation of the Eastern Shore Maryland.

She is survives by her three sons: Dr. Wilson L. Coudon III (Nancy) of Fort Washington, MD, George P.W. Coudon (Judith) of Rising Sun, MD and Timothy M.C. Coudon (Leslie) of Perryville, MD; her grandchildren: Ryan, Leigh, Elizabeth, Lauren, Joseph VIII and Sarah;  and 12 ½ great grandchildren.

Katherine is predeceased by her late husbands: Joseph Coudon VI, M.D and Rev. George H. Murphy; and her son: Joseph Coudon VII.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 12th, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church, 315 South Main Street, North East, MD.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
