Judith Mary Ann (Sharkey) Veasey

Judith Mary Ann Veasey, 81 of North East, MD, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 in the Christiana Care, Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.

Born in Easton, PA, on January 31, 1943, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Frances (Musselman) Sharkey.

Judy retired from teaching at Cecil County Public Schools, after 28 years of service. She adored her primary special education students which she taught for the last 20 years of her career.

Judy was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, nanna, aunt and dear friend. She was a 50-year member of the First Baptist Church of North East where she could be found teaching Sunday School, playing the organ or singing in the choir or helping to reach out to those less fortunate.  Judy loved her family and friends very deeply.  If there is anyone that had a need Judy would be the first one there to provide a helping hand, provide a meal or just provide unconditional love. She was one to always go out of her way to help others. She was always stopping to talk to someone or to give someone a hug whether she knew them or not. Her warm smile, laugh, outgoing personality and compassion made you feel like you had known her your whole life shortly after meeting her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years: Ralph T. Veasey, Jr.; son: Ralph T. Veasey III (Eunice) and their children: James Veasey and Sarah Veasey; son-in-law: Christopher Johnson, father of Taylor Johnson Cable & William James Johnson, and husband of the late Judith Elizabeth Veasey Johnson.

A special thanks to her primary care doctor, Dr. Carlo Gopez and the entire staff for going above and beyond in helping and supporting Judy and Ralph with her care.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of North East, 206 Mechanics Valley Road, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Judy to First Baptist Church of North East or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, both in care of Crouch Funeral Home, 127 S. Main St., North East, MD 21901.
