Joyce Hackney Walker

Joyce Hackney Walker, age 81 of Marathon, Florida, formerly of Cecil County, Maryland, died Sunday, August 31, 2003 at Union Hospital of Cecil County, Maryland. Born in Neva, Tennessee on October 29, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Hackney and Edith Milhorn Hackney. Mrs. Walker was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Walker, Marathon, Florida, daughters, Brenda Sommers, North East, Maryland, Sandra Moya, San Diego, California and Patricia Ingram, Darlington, Maryland, sisters, Doris Shell and Louise Buckles both of Tennessee, a brother, Gene Hackney, Tennessee, 11-grandchildren; and 9-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 6, 2003 at the First Baptist Church of North East, 206 Mechanics Valley Road, North East, Maryland. Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Hokuf of the First Baptist Church of North East, North East, Maryland will officiate.
