Joy Belle Mitchell

Joy Belle Blevins Mitchell, of North East Maryland, was born in Ashe County North Carolina on March 28, 1936, departed this life peacefully on November 22, 2025. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will resonate through her family for generations. Joy's life was a tapestry woven with joy and connection. She was a spirited woman who cherished the simple pleasures of life, from lively evenings spent playing cards and square dancing with friends to joyful afternoons at the bowling alley. Most importantly, Joy dedicated her heart to her family, always ensuring they felt loved and cared for. Her warmth and compassion will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her devoted daughter Sandy (Bill Cooper) Mitchell of North East Maryland, daughter Sherry Mitchell of Aireville Pennsylvania , granddaughter Allison (Richie) Hepborn of North East Maryland and her treasured great-grandchildren Abbie , Liam , and Josie. She was preceded in death by her parents Isaac Spencer Blevins Sr. and Ola (Pope)Blevins, Husband Joseph Mitchell , grandson Dusty Mitchell and Siblings Gertha Blevins, Mary Armour, Maragret Eveland, Ruth Vincent, Isaac Blevins, Harold Blevins and Evelyn Armour. 

A Viewing will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home P.A 127 South Main Street, North East Maryland 21901 where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable woman Joy was. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Funeral Home. Interment will be Bethel Cemetery in Chesapeake City Maryland. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Joy not with sadness but with gratitude for the beautiful moments we shared. Her smile, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire all of us. , dear Joy; your legacy of love will forever live on in our hearts.
