Joseph Mitchell

Joseph A. Mitchell, 76, of North East, MD, died Saturday, September 8, 2012 at home.

Born in Tazewell, VA, on February 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Fieldon Kirk Mitchell and Ida M. Harrison Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell enjoyed playing bluegrass music, gardening, golfing, cookouts, and family get togethers. Before his retirement he was a employed by Joe Wagman Mason Contractors in Aberdeen, MD.


Survived by his wife: Joy Mitchell daughters: Sandy Mitchell and husband Bill Cooper of North East, MD, Sherry Mitchell of North East, MD sisters: Ruth Marrs of Fawn Grove, PA, Sophia Smith of Red Lion, PA, Ruby Blevins of Chesapeake City, MD, Cookie McCleary of Red Lion, PA, Judy Mitchell of Airville, PA, brothers: Robert Mitchell of GA, Farley Mitchell of Loganton, PA.Grandson, Dusty Mitchell of North East, MD; Granddaughter, Allison Hepbron and husband Richie and their children Abbie and Liam(Kadiddle Hopper) of North East, MD; late sisters, Mary Young; and Hannah Daugherty.

Funeral service, conduct by Rev. Bert Jicha, will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD where there will be a viewing on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and 1 hour before the services on Tuesday.


Interment will follow services in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.
