Johnnie Lee Waddell

Johnnie Lee Waddell, 79 of Elkton, MD, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 in the Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.

Born in MD, on July 10, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert Monroe Waddell and Clarine (Patrick) Newsome.   He was the husband of the late, Mary Jo (Tyrrell) Waddell.

Johnnie was a Ralph G. Degli Obizzi & Sons plumber for over 30 years.

He was a real car guy, especially Fords.  He enjoyed having a beer and going out for breakfast. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed the time spent with them.

His kindness and love radiated in everything he did. Even in his final days, surrounded by those he cherished most, he remained a source of light, sharing laughter and warmth despite the pain he endured. On his last night with us, he held our hands for hours as he transitioned to the other side, embodying the strength and love that defined his life.

Survivors include his daughter: Teresa Waddell of North East, MD; grandchildren: Michael Todd Shea, Cody Shea (Missy) Christopher Shea all of Elkton, MD, Jasmin Hoistad of Lansdale, PA; and his siblings: Linda Golt of Boiling Springs, SC, Joyce Waddell Webb of Dallas, GA, Ronald Waddell of Charlestown, MD and Jerry Newsome of Wilmington, DE.
