John Henry Schirling

John Henry Schirling, 84, of North East, MD, died Wednesday, February 8, 2005 in the Perry Point VA Hospital, Perry Point, MD. Born in Elkton, MD, on August 8, 1920, he was the son of the late Michael and the late Margaret Flowers Schirling. He served during World War II in the Army. He retired as a Pipe Fitter from Bainbridge Naval Training Center. Mr. Schirling was a member of North East United Methodist Church and manager of the N.E.LL. He also enjoyed splitting wood, gardening, and playing cards. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen V Schirling; son, Lloyd E Schirling, San Jose, CA; sister, Margaret Hudson, Darby, PA; and 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, John H Schirling, Jr and Virginia L Bolton. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 11, 2005 at 2:00 PM, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will take place from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to services. Rev. Daniel Gedman of North East United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
