John Bruce Renninger, 87 of North East, MD, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Mifflin County, PA, on March 8, 1930, he was the son of the late Bruce D. and Mertie (Knepp) Renninger.  He was the husband of the late Phyllis M. Renninger who passed March 29, 2009.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Renninger was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for York Building Products, working for the company for 40 years and 3 months.

He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, North East, MD.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, puzzles and mechanic work in his garage.

Survivors include his six children: Virginia McKnight (Bob) of North East, MD, Wayne Renninger (Melodie) of Abingdon, MD,  Terry Renninger (Mary), Diane Beyerling (Glenn), Beverly Cox (Kelsey) and Andrew Renninger (Becky) all of North East, MD; 7 brothers; 1 sister; 22 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 brothers.

Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Mark Crispell will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.

We would like to thank Amedysis Home Healthcare and Hospice for their loving care of our father.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church or Amedysis Hospice, both in care of the funeral home.
