John L. Loban

John L. Loban, 89 of North East, MD, formerly of Dundee, NY died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in Abbey Manor Assisted Living, Elkton, MD. Born in Harrisburg, PA, on December 3, 1921, he was the son of the late John E. and the late Mary Livingston Loban. He was the husband for 65 years of the late Gayle Loban who died on September 2, 2009. Mr. Loban served his Country admirably in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was the owner of a hardware store for many years in Addison, NY and retired from K-Mart in Bath, NY. He had been a member of Welles Hose Fire Co. in Addison, NY, a member of the Board of Education of the Addison Central School District, and a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Hammondsport, NY. Mr. Loban leaves behind his children: Barbara Manges of North East, MD, Rebecca Russell of Smithville Flats, NY, Richard Loban of Addison, NY and Christina Ryon of Chesterland, OH; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
