John Edward "Jack" Krummel, 69, of Zion, MD, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 5, 2009 in the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on October 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Everett and the late Kathryn Donache Krummel. Mr. Krummel was the beloved husband for nearly 50 years to Linda L. Krummel, Zion, MD. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children: Jennifer L. Murray and her husband Jim, Joseph E. Krummel and his wife Sherri, Kirk D. Krummel and his wife Jessica, all of Rising Sun, MD; and 8 grandchildren: Peter, Staci, Amy, Mark, Sydney and Allyson Krummel, and Michael and John Murray. "Papa", as he was lovingly known, was very involved in his children and grandchildren's lives and almost never missed a ball game, band concert or dance recital. He was an avid golfer and loved to play with his sons, son-in-law and friends from early spring to late fall. He also loved to be on the river fishing when he got a chance. He served on various committees and ministries at Grace Bible Chapel and most recently was an Elder and worship singer. He sang in several Gospel quartets over the last 40 years including The Uppershoremen, The Krummel Family Singers and most recently Brothers in Christ. He retired after 35 years of service to the Maryland State Highway Administration, where he was Chief Administrator for Kennedy Highway and all Maryland toll facilities. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Grace Bible Chapel, 245 Old Zion Road, North East, MD on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Grace Bible Chapel. Rev. Stephen Schappert, Rev. Wayne Heffelfinger, and Pastor William Scott will officiate. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Jack Krummel Memorial Fund of Grace Bible Chapel.
