John Perry Kluge, 61 of North East, MD, died suddenly Sunday, December 14, 2008. Born in Montclair, NJ, on June 2, 1947, he was the son of Margaret Jenkins of Montclair, NJ and the late Willard George Kluge. He was an Electrician, employed by J.M. Huber, Inc. of Havre de Grace, MD. He had a strong Christian Faith and had attended Glorious Presence Church, Elkton, MD with his family in the past. He contributed his electrical skills to the community over the years, including work at the North East Little League Fields, in Chesapeake Isles and at his church. He had a passion for music, playing bluegrass with Dean Sapp and the Harford Express. He could play any string instrument he picked up. His greatest joy was watching his sons play sports. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joan Kluge of North East, MD; two sons: Sean E. and Eric J. Kluge both at home; three sisters: Linda Kluge of Oreana, ID, Janet Wiggin of High Bridge, NJ, Barbara Hickox of Boonton Township, NJ and one brother: Chris Kluge of Newton, NJ; and his stepmother, Kathy Kluge of Oldwick, NJ. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held Friday, December 19, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. A second gathering will be held Saturday, December 20, 2008 starting at 11:00 AM at Glorious Presence Church, 1552 Singerly Road, Elkton, MD. Memorial services will be begin at 12:00 Noon at the church. Rev. Curtis Leins will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Sean and Eric Kluge College Fund, C/O the funeral home.
