John A. Frederick, age 82, of North East, Maryland, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2004, at home. Born in North East, Maryland, on July 28, 1921, he was a son of the late John and Maude Hamilton Frederick. Mr. Frederick retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground as a mechanic who worked on testing and research. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In addition to his parents, Mr. Frederick was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Frederick; and his son, Norman Frederick. Mr. Frederick is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lorena Frederick, North East, Maryland; his children, John Frederick, Jr., and Edith Rasnake, both of Elkton, Maryland, Francis Frederick, Verna Thomas, Verla Frederick, Ernest Frederick, Sr., and Peggy Frederick, all of North East, Maryland; his step-daughter, Marie Ewing, North East, Maryland; brother, Charles Frederick, Roanoke, Virginia; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call this evening, Monday, March 29, 2004, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at the funeral home. The Rev. Sumner Jones of Bethel United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, Maryland, with full military honors.
