John A. Brinkman, Jr.

John A. Brinkman, Jr., 92 of North East, MD, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at Christiana Care, Union Hospital, Elkton, MD with his loving family by his side.

Born in Lancaster, PA, on April 2, 1932, he was the son of the late John A. Brinkman, Sr. and Ellen Mae (Rineer) Brinkman.  He was the husband of 69 years of the late Erla Jean (Dommel) Brinkman who passed January 8, 2021.

Early in his career, John worked for Trojan Yacht in Lancaster, serving as manager in Elkton until 1977.  From 1977-2020, he was the owner of Brinkman Customizing Inc., doing home and marine improvements.

In 1958, he built a cabin in Millmont, PA.  For many years, the family spent many happy vacations there.  He loved deer hunting. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family.  He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  His laugh was infectious. He never had a bad word to say about anyone, always positive.

He is survived by his children: Phyllis J. Brinkman, her husband Todd Warren, Todd J. Brinkman, his wife Vicki; his grandchildren: Jonnie Ann Vidales, Bryan Brinkman, Courtney Heckler, Kelly Hirt, Kristine Cross, Alexandra Murray, Adam Swayne, Hayli Warren, Steven Pearson, Niki Hamm; 18 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Richard Brinkman, James Brinkman; and his daughter-in-law: Deb Brinkman.

In addition to his wife and parents, John was also preceded in death by his daughter: Terry Lynn Pearson; son: John A. Brinkman III; and granddaughter: Ashley Pearson.

Funeral service will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will begin at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow services in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, PA.
