John Hammer Alexander

John H. Alexander, 87 of North East, MD, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 in the Union Hospital Of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in North East, MD, on January 19, 1919, he was the son of the late David Alexander and the late Susie Alexander. He was a self employed Building Contractor whom retired after many years. John loved to play music. His favorite was Old Rugged Cross. John is predeceased by his son John David Alexander, son in law; Jimmie Marshall, sisters; Susie and Alice Alexander, Peg Baliff and Idella Murphy, brothers; Ted , Lou, Britton , Walter, Charles, Herb and Wash Alexander. Survived by his wife of 61 years: Eleanor M. Alexander three daughters: Betty Marshall of North East, MD Peggy Sue Lilly of Elkton, MD Janet Lee Hicks of Elkton, MD sons: Walter Alexander and wife Reta of Pleasent Hill, MD, Ronald Alexander of North East, MD sister: Irene Morgan, North East, MD Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD where friends may call from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Rev. Dennis Gilbert will officiate Interment will be held in the North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
