Joan Elizabeth (Lyall) Hicks

Joan Elizabeth Hicks, 80 of Colora, MD, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Elkton, MD, on November 10, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William and Pearl (Long) Lyall.

Joan retired after 30 years of service working in the clerical department at Aberdeen Proving Ground.

She is survived by her husband: Daniel “Jack” Hicks; one son: Steven C. Hicks of Aroda, VA; two sisters: Barbara Vannoy of Jessup, NC and Joyce Craten of Fallston, MD; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her son: Brian Keith Hicks.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:30 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow services in Little Britain Cemetery, Peach Bottom, PA.
