Jimmie Dale Taylor

Jimmie Dale Taylor, 75 of North East, MD, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

Born in Elizabethton, TN, on August 31, 1945, he was the son of the late Okie C. and Mildred Irene (Patterson) Taylor.

Mr. Taylor retired from Port Contractors in Wilmington, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.  He was a member of North East United Methodist Church where he served on the board of trustees.

He enjoyed gardening, traveling, carpentry and welding.  His constant companions were his dogs, Lacey, Camryn and Winston.

Survivors include his wife: Sheryl L. Taylor; children: Linda Williams (Jay) of Rocky Mount, NC, Kimberly Taylor (Denny) of Butler, TN, Jamie Johnson (Robert) of Butler, TN; stepsons: Ryan Banker of Frisco, CO and Kyle Banker of Denver, CO; and his siblings: Vickie Ferrell of Watauga, TN and Ben Allen Taylor;  brother-in-law: Rick Hughes; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Mr. Taylor was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Horton and Johnny Taylor; 1 sister: Jackie Griffey.

Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Dr. Drew Christian will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00 am at North East United Methodist Church, 308 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.

Interment will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, August 30, 2021 in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
