Jerusha Kay (Mears) Farrell

Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Jerusha Kay “Jeri” Farrell, 78 of Elkton, MD, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Accent Care, Christiana Care Hospital, Newark, DE surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Raysal, WV on May 15, 1946, Jeri was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lola (Thomas) Mears.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband Laurence J. Farrell who passed on May 13, 2021.

Prior to her retirement, Jeri was employed by White Industries and, most recently, was an associate at W. L. Gore & Associates.

She enjoyed gardening and traveling.  Most of all she loved time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise Ely and son, Raymond Ely (Jennifer), stepsons Laurence Farrell, Jr. (Joanna), Patrick Farrell (Lisa), Stephen Farrell (Lori) and Jason Farrell and thirteen grandchildren, Travis, Skylar, Raven Wyszynski, Owen Ely, Eleni, Sophia, Aiden, Sean, McKenna, Tiernan, Reece, Cailey and Riley Farrell, sister, Reta (Walter) Alexander and brothers, Thomas (Becky) and Eugene (Diane) Mears.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 10:00 until 12:00 noon at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Seasons Foundation, Accent Care Hospice at Christiana Care Hospital, in memory of Jerusha Farrell.
