Jerry Lee Hamm

Jerry Lee Hamm, 61 of North East, MD, died Sunday, April 22, 2007 at home. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on November 2, 1945, he was the son of Florance Lofthouse Parrett of Elkton, MD and the late Burley Hamm. Mr. Hamm was the husband of Helen G. Hamm of North East, MD. Jerry enjoyed music, especially bluegrass, bingo, fishing, telling jokes and working with his hands. He also enjoyed painting landscape scenes. He was a Printer, employed by the Cecil Whig for 33 years. He was also a Dock Foreman for Floral Plant Growers. In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include: his stepfather, Harry Parrett of Elkton, MD; nine daughters: Cindy Barton of TN, Markita Paxton of Casselberry, FL, Dreena Simmons of Port Deposit, MD, Dawn Barton of Rising Sun, MD, Cathy Eldreth of Elkton, MD, Melissa Rolfe of Elkton, MD, Cindy Hamm of Elkton, MD, Tishia Jones of Elkton, MD, Amanda Minker of Port Deposit, MD and one son: Jerry L. Hamm II of DE; one sister: Tammy Schneider of Elkton, MD and two brothers: David Hamm of Port Deposit, MD, Harry Joe Parrett of Elkton, MD; his first wife, Barbara Powers Hamm of Elkton, MD; and also 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to his father, Mr. Hamm was also predeceased by a sister, Flo Pierce; and two grandchildren: Ricki Simmons, Jr. and Sylvia Dawn Barton. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 26, 2007 at11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Don White will officiate. Interment will be in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
