Jeanne Marie Downey

Jeanne Marie Downey, 84 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 in the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, Rising Sun, MD.

She was born in Hazlet, NJ on May 28, 1932.  Mrs. Downey worked as a banking officer for Fidelity for over 25 years.

In her earlier years, she was very involved in the PTA, was a Girl Scout leader, volunteered at JFK Hospital and attended the Reformed Church of Metuchen.

She is survived by two daughters: Carolyn Williams of Rising Sun, MD and Donna Smith of Metuchen, NJ; a brother: Richard Sanyi of Long Branch, NJ; a sister: Barbara Mackey; and her four grandchildren: Matthew, Sarah, Joshua and Rachel.

Mrs. Downey was preceded in death by her beloved husband: James Robert Downey.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with a service beginning at 7:00 pm.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 am at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, State Route 35 North, Hazlet, NJ.

Rev. Bert Jicha will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
