Jean Grandval

Jean Grandval, 74 of North East, MD passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday February 1, 2012. Jean was born in Normandie, France in 1937. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 25 years Debbie Grandval and two children, Shawn and Cerise who he loved so much, as well as many close brother and sister-in laws, aunts and uncles. Jean grew up in post-world war II France and became the county's youngest driving school instructor at age 18. He loved travelling from a young age and visited much of Europe and Northern Africa gathering colorful stories that he shared often with friends and family. Jean proudly served his country in the Algerian War before becoming a successful business owner until he chose to retire. Jean then moved with his family to North East, MD from his native country of France in 1998 and enjoyed his favorite pastime of cooking, sharing meals and a good glass of wine with family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East MD on Monday, February 6th at 11:30 AM.
