Janet Marie Collins

Janet Marie Collins, 65 of Charlestown, MD, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at home. A lifelong resident of Charlestown, she was born on April 11, 1943, the daughter of the late Leon 'Mickey' and the late Leona Shallcross Beal. She was a LPN, working as a Private Duty Nurse, and previously at Harford Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Collins enjoyed craftwork and stamping. She loved cooking and baking, and was known for her fabulous desserts. Most of all, she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. Survivors include one daughter: Cindy Wilson and her husband Mark Jones; sister, Shirley Barrow, and two granddaughters, Casey and Leah all of Charlestown, MD. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, David Peterman and a brother, Eugene 'Skip' Beal. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with a memorial service at 7:30 PM. Rev. James Jones will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: Seasons Hospice in care of the funeral home.
