James R. West

James R. West, 90 formerly of North East MD passed away Friday, July 30, 2021 in the Ware Presbyterian Home, Oxford, PA.

Born in Marion, VA, on July 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Floyd and Elsie (Shelton) West.

James served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and U.S. Marines during the Korean War. Before retirement he was a truck driver. He enjoyed his visits to the Chuck House and talking with his friends.

He is survived by: 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 1 great-great-great grandchild; and son-in-law.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his companion: Lena Fristoe; and step daughter: Patty Kemfort.

Graveside service conducted by Father John Schaeffer with full military honors will be held Friday, August 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at North East Methodist Cemetery, 101 Cemetery Road, North East, MD.
