James William Simmers

James William Simmers, 70 of North East, MD, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lancaster, PA, on August 14, 1952, he was the son of the late W. Frank and Emily Grace (Armour) Simmers.

He served in the US Navy Reserves.

James Worked for GFJ in mail delivery.  He enjoyed fishing and gardening.  He also enjoyed watching cooking shows and cooking for his family and friends.

Survivors include his beloved wife: Lynne Simmers; four sons: Franklin Simmers of North East, MD, Eric Simmers of AR, Andrew Simmers of North East, MD and Charles Griffith of North East, MD; eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 pm.

Interment will follow services in Bay View Cemetery, North East, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
