James C. "Joe" Lindsay, 92 of North East, MD, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 in the Laurelwood Nursing And Rehabilitation, Elkton, MD. Born in Oxford, PA, on December 3, 1913, he was the son of the late John C. Lindsay and Ada Caruth Lindsay. Joe was a graduate of Oxford High School, Oxford, PA. Before his retirement he was a Service Station Attendant, employed by Foster's Exxon in North East, MD. He enjoyed gardening, photography, and CB radio. He is a member of the Union Lodge #48 A. F. and A.M., Elkton, MD, Scottish Rite, Wilmington, DE, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Havre de Grace, MD. Joe attended the North East Church of the Nazarene, North East, MD. His first wife Virginia Morton Lindsay died March 26, 1987. Survived by his wife: Olive Mae Lindsay and one daughter: Sonja L. Adams of Newark, DE, Stepchildren: Linda C. Lefever, and Edward Carnell. Grandchildren: Melanie A. Schwerdt, Jill A. Kadtke, Sherry Raile, Cathy Osborne, and Christopher Cote. Also survived by 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 23, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Pastor Paul Thomas will officiate. Interment North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD. Special thank you to Seasons Hospice.
