James R. Hamilton, Sr.

James R. Hamilton, Sr., 59 of North East, MD, died suddenly Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in Elkton, MD, on May 2, 1951, the son of the late Harry and the late Virginia Jane Smith Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army. He was a Union Local Millwright, working for Formsa Plastics, Delaware City, DE. Mr. Hamilton was the Commander of V.F.W. Post 6027, North East, MD; Treasurer of the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club and District Quarter Master for the V.F.W. He enjoyed traveling, turkey shoots and working on motorcycles. Survivors include his loving wife: Jolynn Hamilton; children: James R. Hamilton, Jr., Harry Hamilton all of North East, MD, Virginia "Jeannie" Blizzard of Elkton, MD, Amanda Hamilton and Lucas Hamilton both of North East, MD; his stepchildren: Roy May, Richard May, Michelle Barton and Mellisa May all of North East, MD; his siblings: John Hamilton , Donald Hamilton, Mary Ann Hamilton and Marjorie Yurcovic; and 16 grandchildren: Hunter, Brittany, Byron, Joshua, Austin, Dakota, Jasmine, Timmy, Harry, Maleia, Logan, James, Hannah, Hateya, Jake and Madalynn. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia "Fat Pat" Hamilton and his brother, Timothy Hamilton, Sr. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
