James Nelson Cochran, age 61, of North East, MD, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2004, at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD. Born in West Chester, PA, on October 19, 1942, has lived most of his life in Cecil County, MD. Mr. Cochran served in the Maryland National Guard. He worked in the family owned business, Cochran's General Store, in Fair Hill, MD. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Cherry Hill, MD. Jim enjoyed his family, especially his children and grandchildren, sports, and NASCAR. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Alice "Jo" Cochran, North East, MD; children, James N. Cochran, Jr., Abingdon, MD, Lori A Roark, Still Pond, MD, Clark E. Cochran, North East, MD, Susan K. Cochran, Elkton, MD, and Bonnie M. Arnold, Windsor, PA; mother, Lena Grogg, Elkton, MD; step-mother, Norma Cochran, Independence, VA; brother, Harold Cochran, Virginia; sister, Jean Cochran, Galax, VA; 13 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. Jim was preceded in death his son, Patrick L. Cochran, who died in 1976. Family and friends may call Tuesday, May 25, 2004, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at the funeral home. Rev. Woody Fannin of Dogwood Baptist Church, Lewisville, MD, will officiate. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Lewisville, MD.
