James Frederick Chestnut
Born in Rogersville, TN, on June 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Fred and Effie Lee (Brewer) Chestnut. He was the husband of the late Eva Lee Chestnut who died in 1980.
Mr. Chestnut retired from Alger Inc. where he delivered fuel oil and repaired and serviced heating systems. He also enjoyed fishing and crabbing.
He is survived by his two sons: Gerald Chestnut of North East, MD, Gene Chestnut of Dover, DE; sister: Melba Romanet of Elkton, MD; brothers: Joseph Chestnut of Nashville, TN, William Chestnut of Perryville, MD; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Chestnut was also predeceased by his son, Leslie, brothers, Albert and John, and sister, Mary Phillips.
Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Mary Dye, will be held Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Interment will follow service in Union Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
