James Oscar Barnum, Jr., 73 of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
Born in Newnan, GA, on March 17, 1939, he was the son of the late James Oscar Barnum, Sr. and the late Mary Frances (Tinch) Barnum.
He served in the U.S. Army for over 23 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Barnum is survived by his wife: Cornelia Barnum of Bel Air, MD.
Memorial services will be held Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Main Post Chapel, 4510 Boothby Hill Avenue, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM until service time.
Interment with military honors will follow at 1:00 PM in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
