Jacob Samuel Zahn

Jacob Samuel Zahn (Jake), 73, of Port Deposit, passed away on March 4, 2026, at home. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Howard, and his sons Joshua (Gretchen), of Elkton, and Josiah (Stephanie) of Stewartstown, grandchildren Julia, Ella, Logan, Dylan and Joslyn (all of whom affectionately called him “Grump”), sisters Rosina and Linda, numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful dog, Toby, who rarely left his side. Jake was predeceased by his parents, Gottfried and Mary, and siblings Sarah, Mary, George, and Annamarie. Jacob was a veteran of the United States Navy. Although he worked as an electrician by trade, he will be remembered as someone willing to take on any task or project if someone needed help. His unforgettable, infectious laugh will be missed. The stories of Jake’s earlier years, whether in his words or others’, were certainly entertaining and fantastic.At Jake’s request, there will be no formal service. However, a Celebration of Life will beheld on Sunday, March 15th, from 1 to 4 pm at the American Legion Susquehanna Post 135, in Perryville, Maryland.In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to a local nonprofit organization in his memory.
