Irene R. Delp, 93 of Baltimore, MD, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 15, 2014. Irene was born in McDowell, WV, on February 18, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Henry W. Lawless and Julia Mae (Kinder) Lawless.
Irene is a graduate from North Fork High School, in North Fork, WV. She had been employed at G.C. Murphy’s, North Fork, WV, Epsteins located in Highlandtown, and Lernon Shop in East Point Mall.
She was a devoted Christian woman (Proverbs 31) and lived by the word of God,and the Bible. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and the congregation at Middle River First Church of God, where she was faithful member for 52 years.
Irene was a seamstress, enjoyed working, poll watching during the election, coupon clipping, reading the Bible, listening to gospel music, gardening/harvesting her vegetables and flowers, especially her rose garden. Irene was known as a peace-maker and an outstanding friend. She prayed daily for her family.
Irene was completely devoted to her loving husband of 74 years: Baynerd N. Delp. She is also survived by her son: James Willis Delp and wife Yourth; her daughter: Julia Gail Massie and husband Rev. Ralph Massie, Pastor of North East Church of God; and 5 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She looked forward to seeing everyone in her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters: Stella Caliq and Audrey Balto; and her brothers: Henry and Eugene Lawless.
Funeral service will be held Monday, May 19th, 2014 at 11:00 am, at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland, where there will be visitation one hour before the service.
Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North East Church of God, in care of the funeral home.
