Ida M. Sherwood

Ida M. Sherwood, 88 of North East, MD, died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at home. Born in Wilmington, DE, on July 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and the late Mary Davis Maloney. She was the wife of the late James Sherwood who died in 1989. Survivors include: one daughter: Joan Fitzgerald and her husband Robert of North East, MD; 7 grandchildren: Terri Tedington; Darlene Gentry; Fred Calhoun; Lisa Herrera; Jason Fitzgerald; Jim Hull; and Ed Hull; 11 great grandchildren: Sara Calhoun; Brandon Jordan; Hanna Jordan; Nicole Gentry; Cali Nesbitt; Caitlyn Nesbitt; Collin Fitzgerald; Brandy Fitzgerald; Amber Gentry; Elyssa Hull; and Devin Hull; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Sherwood of AL; her sister-in-law, Eleanor Bridges of VA; and her three best friends: Cecelia Farrow, Dee Cropper and Mary Taylor. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Carol Hull. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Wilmington, DE. Pastor Gareth Tonnessen of New Covenant Presbyterian Church, Rehobeth, DE will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to Season's Hospice, 133 North Bridge Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
