Ida B. Holmes

Ida B. Holmes, 70, of Hartly, DE, formerly of North East, MD, died Thursday April 28, 2005, in the Kent General Hospital, Dover, De. Born in Princeton, WV, on August 26, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Henry Cleveland and Cora Nellie Reed. Mrs. Holmes was a retired manager of the Budget Motor Lodge in New Castle, De. She enjoyed horses, dogs, wolves, working with puzzles, and dancing; but most of all she cherished her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate, Cecil L. Holmes who died in 1973. Survivors include her children, Darlene Coker of Cleveland, TN, Connie Smith of Hartly, DE, Cecil L. Holmes, Jr. of Newark, DE; her twin brother, Junior Cleveland Reed of Elkton, MD, and sister, Nellie Jones of Hope, OH; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, May 2, 2005, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to services. Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
