Howard Walter Simpers

Howard Walter Simpers, 85 of Elkton, MD, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

Born in North East, MD, on September 28, 1938, he was the son of the late Howard L. and Alma Edna (Kist) Simpers. He was the husband of the late Ruby Simpers who passed July 1, 2012 and the late Gladys Blankenship who passed November 3, 2018.

Prior to his retirement he worked as a self-employed drywall contractor.  A longtime member of North East Church of God, he enjoyed music and playing his guitar.

Survived by four daughters: Alma Jean Miller of North East, MD, Cerenia Johnson (Lou) of Orange Park, FL, Deborah Winder (Orlando) of Deland, FL and Colleen Simpers of Orange Park, FL; his stepchildren: Kenneth W. Blankenship, Carol Blankenship both of North East, MD, Ronald Blankenship of DE, Randy Blankenship (Greta) of Bethlehem, GA; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Howard was also preceded by his siblings: Edna Foreacre, Stella Sakers, Robert Simpers and Herbert Simpers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.

Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Chuck Levering will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11:00 am at North East Church of God, 302 East Thomas Avenue, North East, MD.

Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East., MD
