Hilma Elizabeth Petersen, 91 of North East, , MD, died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Elkton Care and Rehab, Elkton, MD. Born in Battle Creek, NE, on January 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Bradford and the late Grace Eva Hale Harrington. She retired from Thikol Chemical Corp., Elkton, MD. Mrs. Petersen was a graduate of Aberdeen High School. A member of the Ladies Aux. of American Legion Post 194, she had served as past president. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, North East, MD. Survivors include 3 sons: Val M. Petersen of North East, MD, Dana J. Petersen of Newark, DE, Rex A. Petersen of Aberdeen, MD; 2 grandchildren: Jean Marie Petersen of Aberdeen, MD and David A. Petersen of Aberdeen, MD; 1 great grandson: Chane Arthur Bowen of Aberdeen, MD; a brother: Paige Harrington of Rising Sun, MD; 3 stepsisters: Nancy Worthington of North East, MD, Bonnie Mooney of Perry Hall, MD, Patsy Cress of Conowingo, MD; her nieces and nephews: Dale Harrington of Aurora, CO, Kenneth Harrington of Rising Sun, MD, Susan Hasson of Rising Sun, MD, Catherine Ann Yekenevicz of Milwaukee, WI and Mary Elizabeth Winkowski of West Bend, WI. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Hale and Dean Harrington; a sister: Marialice Ognacevic; her husband: Earl A. Petersen; stepmother: Elva Harrington; a stepbrother: Frank Cox and a nephew: Allen Harrington. Memorial services, conducted by Pastor Mark Crispell will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 6:30 PM at Bethel Lutheran Church, 24 Cameron Road, North East, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.
