Herbert R. Shivery, Sr.
A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born on July 31, 1936, the son of the late Ralph Thomas Shivery and the late Martha (Carter) Shivery.
Herb retired from Chrysler where he worked as a line jumper.
He was a commercial crabber and fisherman. He greatly enjoyed hunting, especially geese.
Survivors include his loving wife: Barbara Ann Shivery of North East, MD; his children: Herbert R. Shivery, Jr. and wife Nancy of Belcamp, MD, Donna Walters and husband Tom of Abingdon, MD, Charles Shivery of North East, MD and Randy Shivery of DE; a sister: Bernice Jackson of Elkton, MD; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and “Herb’s Adopted Sons”: Rogers Clements and Ronnie Simmons.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 7:30 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family will receive guests from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, in care of the funeral home.
