Helen Gladys (Whitt) Hypes

Helen Gladys Hypes, 94 of Elkton, MD, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at home.

She was born in Newhall, WV, on July 7, 1921.  She was the wife of the late Bernard C. Hypes.

Mrs. Hypes was a loving homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family, watching birds and listening to gospel music.

Survivors include two daughters: Sharon McMillan (Arthur) of Elkton, MD, Vina Bright (Harry) of Townsend, DE and one son: Bernard C. Hypes, Jr. of Elkton, MD; her grandchildren: Arthur McMillan, Jr., Valerie McMillan, Crystal Rau, David Bright,  Aaron Bright, Budd Hypes; and 18 Great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her father: Archie Whitt; her mother and stepdad: Pearl (Whitt) and Ernest Smith; two grandsons: Joe Hypes, Bernard Hypes, III; and her daughter- in- law: Jan Hypes.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Ron Silverman will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where the family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 am until service time.

Interment will follow services in Sharon Hill Cemetery, Dover, DE.
