Harry A. Ward, Sr.

Harry A. Ward, Sr., 69 of Elkton, MD, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009 in the St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, DE after a courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Elkton, MD, he was born on January 3, 1940, the son of the late Bertrum and the late Edna Butler Ward. He was a retired Incinerator Operator for Central Chemical; was the Park Manager for Elkton Homes; and also ran his own business, Wards Pest Control. He was a member of Chesapeake Bay Golf Club and enjoyed watching football, NASCAR, internet card games and hanging out with his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife: Marcy Keeler Ward of Elkton, MD; his children: Barbara Fritz and her husband George of Newark, DE, Lois Stowers and her husband Tommy of Elkton, MD and Harry A. Ward, Jr. of Elkton, MD; two stepdaughters: Tonya Savage and her husband Mike of Elkton, MD and Natasha Hawk of Elkton, MD; his siblings: Joyce Andere, Bertha Nino, Patsy Biggers, Kitty Rice, Marie Stewart; 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings: Malon Ward, Richard Ward, Nancy McElwee and Sondra Ward; and a grandson: Marcus Guns. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 1:00 PM. Rev.
