Harry Charles Rogers, 90 of North East, MD, who fought a good fight, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in the Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Oxford, PA, on April 8, 1917, he was the son of the late John and the late Florence Chapman Rogers. Mr. Rogers was the husband of Lucy V. Tester Rogers of North east, MD. Mr. Rogers served in the Army during World War II, as a Private First Class, Headquarters Company, 89th Infantry Division. He received the Purple Heart Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon and the World War II Victory Ribbon. He was a Truck Driver for Edwards Concrete Pipe. He also was a volunteer fire fighter in Oregon. Mr. Rogers enjoyed walking, game shows, playing cards, dominoes, fishing and horseshoes. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include: four daughters: Lorreen Harris of North East, MD; Viola Sells of North East, MD; Florence Moore of Conowingo, MD; and Susie Nagle of Charlestown, MD; a sister: Mary R. Cordill of Elkton, MD; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may call starting at 10:00 AM. Rev. Larry Johnson will officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery.
