Harry Losten Parrett, 88, passed away at his home in Elkton, MD on Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Mr. Parrett was born July 8, 1920, in Delaware, to the late Elmer and the late Elizabeth Laird Parrett. Mr. Parrett served in the US Army and was a veteran of World War II. After departing from the Armed Forces, he gained employment at the Aberdeen Proving Ground as an artillery repairman, working there for 30 years until his retirement in 1979. Mr. Parrett is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Florence Lofthouse Parrett; his son, Harry J. Parrett of Elkton; his daughter, Tammy Schneiders of Elkton; his stepson, David J. Hamm of Rising Sun; 7 granddaughters and 2 grandsons. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Florence Parrett Pierce and his stepson, Jerry L. Hamm. Private funeral services for family members only will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 5, 2008 at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Rev. Andy Parrett will officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
