Harry R. Parks SR., 84, the youngest & last of 10 children, of North East, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2009. Born in Sugar Grove, VA, on June 13, 1925, he was the son of the late Hedrick and Mary Larue Parks. Mr. Parks was the beloved husband of Myrtle W. Parks. He was a retired Crane Operator having worked for the B & O Railroad. Mr. Parks was a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon Harford & Cecil Counties Forest # 142, and a 50 year member of Union Lodge #48 AF&AM Elkton, MD. He loved music, cards, traveling and watching baseball. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Fran Burkheimer of Aberdeen, MD, Harry R Parks, JR. of Aberdeen, MD, William W. Parks of Dover, DE, Mary D'Eramo of North East, MD, and Tom Parks of Rising Sun, MD. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral service, conducted by Rev. Stephen Schappert, will be held Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family & friends may call on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in Bay View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shelemiah UMC, or Grace Bible Chapel, or Seasons Hospice in care of the funeral home.
