Harris Lamar Allen

Harris L. Allen Harris Lamar Allen, age 67 of Conowingo, Maryland, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2004, at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, Maryland. Born in LaFayette, Chambers County, Alabama, on February 20, 1936, he was the son of the late Woodroe Allen and Kate Davis Allen. Mr. Allen retired on March 31, 1998, after 16 years of service from A.P.G. as a Supervisory Oridance Training Specialist. He served in the U.S. Army for 26 years retiring on May 31, 1980, as a Chief Warrant Officer, Ordnance. He was a member of the 32nd Mason Ashlar Lodge # 894 A.F. & A.M., Hanau, Germany, and the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, North East, Maryland. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karin Allen, Conowingo, Maryland, two sons, Steve and Michael Allen, both of Elkton, Maryland, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland. Rev. Jack Little of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, North East, Maryland, will officiate. Family and friends are invited to visit from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a Masonic Service beginning at 8:00 PM, followed by a Closing Prayer Service on Monday, January 19, 2004, at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, Maryland. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 617, North East, Maryland 21901.
